RRR is a story about 2 brave Indian men fighting against britishers, their common enemy, yet they had to fight each other to prove it. Overview Of RRR
The premise of the movie is set in the 19s when India was under British colonizers. The British governor and his wife abduct a young girl, Malli, as she was amazingly talented. The missing of our main lead BHEEM who was their tribe protector starts. His mission was to save Malli and bring her back to her family no matter the cost.
In the movie we also meet the other main lead Ram or Raju, who was a British Indian officer, whose mission was to bring down the British government for tormenting his people. He became an officer to be an insider so he knows all the plans Britishers have against Indians. He decided on this mission, as he saw his tribe get destroyed and his father getting killed in front of his eyes by the britishers.
During a mission to save a boy from drowning, Raju meets Bheeem and they quickly hit it off. They became best friends, yet did not disclose their purpose against Britishers to each other till the very end. In this battle against britishers they had some clash of interests, as Raju was not ready to let bheem go against britishers as he was still trying to win their trust, whereas bheem wanted to trustpass and take Malli back to her tribe.
Raju Reveals His Mission to Bheem
The British got the hold of information that Bheem took Malli away and ordered a position in the higher official post to whomever could capture Him. Raju, even though he did not want to rat his friend out for his bigger mission, surrenders his friend to the British force. The punishment for Bheem was to get publicly beaten in front of the very crowd he protected by his own best friend Raju.
Bheem’s pain made the crowd lose its control leading to the Britishers stopping his execution early. He was sent away and kept in the dungeon. After all the commotion and ill treatment, Raju explains his mission to his friend,and they partner up. In the end they decide to partner up and fight against the British together. They not only kill the governor but also destroy their palace. Bheem secures malli and they have a happy ending.

RRR Making Budget
RRR is one of the biggest successes of the Indian Cinema Industry. The movie has won the Oscar Award for the song “Nattu Nattu” as well as the 95th Academy Award for Best Original Song. The movie was a blockbuster in not just India, but in the world, and received love and praises from everyone. Some of the biggest Hollywood actors and directors also showed their love and support for the film on their social media.
The movie’s budget was 500 crore rupees. RRR total Collection was triple the budget. The total collection of RRR was 1388 crore rupees, in India alone. The movie has made history and is one of the biggest successes in the Indian cinematic industry. The movie took 4 years to release. It started production in 2018, and was meant to be released in 2020 but due to lockdown it was released in 2022.
RRR Reviews
One of the reviewers says it all “Everything Everywhere All At Once may have won the 2023 Best Picture Oscar but RRR should have. This is easily the best picture of the year even though it could not be nominated because of some technicalities.
The acting, casting, cinematography, effects, editing and direction were all superb even though the British were probably made to look far more evil than they may have been in suppressing India’s independence in the 1920’s. The action scenes are spectacular and the music more so even by Indian movie musical score standards.
The RRR number which won the Best Song Oscar may not have even been the best one in the movie, although everyone who watched this year’s Oscars knows why the song which did win was incredible. I would rate this movie 7 or 8 stars if I could. RRR has many of the same vibes as Top Gun Maverick, except that the enemies in India were real, daily and deadly threats to most people every day.
RRR vs. Bollywood: New Perspective on Indian Cinema
The closest parallel movie to RRR is the brilliant Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon which showed non-Asian filmgoers worldwide how great Chinese action movies can be with the right budgets. RRR may even be better, although this is like arguing about who makes the best cars, or single malt scotch. See RRR for yourself and make your own comparisons. On a final note, I knew little about India’s Tollywood movie industry even though I have seen and liked all the good Bollywood films. Now I know to look for more Tollywood products.”
Yet another reviewer says.” The movie was not historically accurate and showed the worst possible side of the Britishers. They showed them inhuman and some cheap people who were heartless. The movie also had unrealistic and over the top action that was exhausting to watch. The movie also had some pacing problems, it was too long and too fast, like take a break, go slow. “
Winding-Up
The movie RRR is now one of the most successful movies in India and has gotten the representation it deserves. RRR got a lot of praise for its action, dialogues, storyline and outstanding music. The movie had choreographed fighting scenes that looked and felt real. The audience quickly aligned with the actors and it made all of us feel their passion for the mission. In the theater where I watched RRR, the crowd went wild and cheered for the actors and during the dance scene the audience jumped on the floor to dance along the screen with their favourite actors. The movie has bring everyone closer and that makes this movie a masterpiece.
